How to create recurring bookings
When creating a daycarebooking, simply select your pet and enable the Recurring toggle.
This opens a simple scheduling window where you can choose:
- When the recurring booking starts
- How often it repeats
- Which days it repeats on
- When the recurring schedule ends
Once you're happy with the schedule, click Done and complete the booking as normal.
How it works
To keep your booking calendar fast and manageable, JungleChief does not create every future booking immediately. Instead, recurring bookings are generated automatically in the background based on your company settings. This allows you to control how far into the future bookings are created, helping prevent unnecessary bookings if customer plans change later.
When a recurring booking is created, the Start Date is the date that the recurring automation begins managing that booking sequence.
As part of the initial setup, JungleChief immediately creates the first booking. This establishes the recurring schedule and ensures the sequence is set up correctly. Subsequent bookings will only be created on the Start Date of the recurring booking.
From the Start Date onward, JungleChief will automatically create future bookings based on the recurring pattern you've selected, and according to the "Create Bookings in Advance" setting found underCompany Details > Accounting. This setting controls how far into the future bookings are generated.
You can view and manage all recurring schedules from Bookings Report > Recurring Bookings. From here you can:
- View all active recurring booking schedules
- See the bookings that have been generated by each schedule
- Edit recurring booking details
- Cancel recurring schedules
When cancelling a recurring booking, you'll also have the option to remove any future bookings that were created by that recurring schedule.
Individual bookings generated by the recurring schedule continue to appear in the owner's booking history and throughout JungleChief just like any standard booking.
Deceased Pet Protection
Recurring bookings continue to follow JungleChief's pet safety controls.
If a pet is marked as deceased:
- Any future recurring bookings will automatically stop being generated
- Existing future bookings created by the recurring schedule will be cancelled
This helps ensure booking records remain accurate and prevents unintended future bookings.
